Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disheartened I recieved a sample of regular absorbency O.B tampons and have decided to review them on my own accord. Please keep in mind that every body is different and that my experience may not be yours. I know I have a low and tilted cervix as well as a uterus that tilts forward instead of backwards ( the majority of women have a backwards tilted vagina and uterus). I decided to try the ob's over a course of 3 months, to make sure I used it during different cycles. When I first started using tampons (around 21 years ago, give or take) my mom always had these lying around so they were the first tampon I used. Back then, I loved them. I found myself always using either the super or superplus and I liked how I could carry them with me, discreetly. Since then, I've moved on to applicator brands. And I have my favorites. Over the years, I've been able to move from the heavy absorbency to using mostly regular (with my new brand). Considering the amount of waste the applicators make, I was excited to try out my old brand again. Unfortunately, I was not impressed :( I have no issues getting things in or out of my body. I had such a difficult time getting these into the correct place. I tried sitting, standing, rasing my legs, lying down, bending forwards,, etc.. Sometimes, going thru 3 tampons at a time just trying to get it in the right spot...which is just as wasteful as using an applicator, to me. I made certain to only use the regular absorbency, that I received, at the time when I would use my other brand's one. The O.B's did NOT absorb my flow well enough..the moment it got wet in any way, it would slide down to the opening and I could feel the wetness and pressure. Additionally, if it's dry down there, it is virtually impossible for me to get in in deep enough. Also, any clots I've had while wearing the O.B's just slid right past the tampon and down my leg. This doesn't happen with my other brand. I don't feel that o.b has a good absorbancy factor. I have had bigger clots and heavier flows where my other brand did a fine job of blocking any of it from slipping out. So, again, with the waste factor..I went thru more of the O.B brand tampons on my lighter days than I would with my normal brand. In conclusion, I will be going back to my normal brand. I may consider trying a cup again, too, because I really want to cut back on my environmental waste. I do wish the o.b brand worked for me because the thought of minimal waste and ease of carrying them discreetly really appeals to me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too smooth I always use o.b tampons i love them but i dont like these new ones. I dont have this problem with any other tampon except this one and i find i insert it and it slides literally right out, like i dont even stand up and it already slid out. So i usually have to insert and pop it over alittle to get it to stay and i guess because i fiddle around abit i find my vagina is rather sore with them. So i switched back to the original o.b tampon

Step

Step 1

Since your hands will be your primary tools here, definitely wash them!

Then take a look at your o.b.® tampon. Is it totally sealed? Good. (If not, don’t use it. Get another one.) Now find the colored tear strip and pull. Once you’ve done that, removing both ends of the wrapper is a breeze.

Next you’re going to find the string on one end of the tampon. Grab the string and pull it tight from left to right and top to bottom. This widens the base of the tampon, creating a nice and protected pocket for your finger. Which is great because your finger plays a starring role in our next step: Inserting the tampon.
